WHY SHOULD YOU CONSIDER ART AS AN ELECTIVE? Intro to Art

Art can be described as: “the use of skill and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others”

Soooooo…….what should you expect to do in Intro to Art? It is just that……it is a class that explores lines, shapes, colors, textures, forms, values, and spaces applying the Principles of Art to create an imaginative variety

Lines

Shapes and C olors ColorsColors

Textures and Forms

and Forms and Textures

and Spaces and Forms

You can do this……. Artist, Frederick Frank said, “I have learned that what I have not drawn, I have not really seen; and that when I start drawing an ordinary thing, I realize how extraordinary it is….. ……a sheer miracle.” Intro to Art class starts the process of “seeing” several varieties of arts and crafts. It allows exploration of different media and subjects, while challenging students to seek their individual level of improvement.

What are you waiting for? Sign up now! Required : A desire to do your best. You don’t have to be “great” to do well in Intro to Art. You need to try your best – and, since you will be graded on a combination of completion and effort as measured against your own ability – you should have fun, learn “a thing or two” and get a good grade.

Think of the possibilities…….. Join us in the Art room!
