The Anglo Saxon Period The Anglo Saxons were people who originated from Germany, they had invaded Great Britain during 5 th century A.D. and took control of the country until 1066 A.D. (Hirst). The Anglo Saxons had a complicated culture. Despite the fact the Anglo Saxons were always at war, they were quite successful in government, art, etc. (Algoe)

The Anglo Saxon Period King Alfred King Alfred, (also known as Alfred the Great) led the Anglo Saxons in a big invasion against the Danes that had invaded England (10).

The Anglo Saxon Period Beowulf Beowulf was one of the first great works in the National England language. In this story A man battles his way to rescue a king and fights mighty creatures as well (18).
