Schematic Design Theory Must decouple all the power connections of the circuit to ensure that high frequency noise on the power line does not interfere with sensitive parts of the circuit. Capacitors near every power and ground connection. POT1 is used to change the magnitude of the output POT2 is used to control the output power of the VCSEL The three element filter (C3,L1,C4) in the top left provides additional protection from VCC noise by bandlimiting the signal In series with each potentiometer is a 'limiting resistor' that should protect the circuit if the POT resistance too low
