Teachers and students working together using technology. Rogers Middle School is wireless and students may now bring their own device. Why BYOD?

TEACHERS WILL: Model safe use of internet and devices Utilize BYOD in their classroom to allow students to use devices during instruction (as needed) Use signs to communicate BYOD days Actively monitor students and device use Share cool Apps and Web tools

STUDENTS WILL: Be good digital citizens Use technology for instructional purposes only; and only with teacher permission Sign BYOD agreement with their parent Understand consequences associated with improper use of devices Learn and use a variety of technology

BYOD GUIDELINES BYOD is allowed during times designated by the teacher. Students are not required to participate. Device should be clearly labeled (Full Name). Device should be charged prior to bringing to school. Student is responsible for personal property. School cannot be responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property. Students may not share devices.

BYOD Time will be designated by the teacher. If it is not a BYOD time, the rules still apply for cell phones: If we See it Or Hear it We Take it & it will cost $15 NON-BYOD TIME

BYOD REMINDERS: Review BYOD agreement with teachers and parents. Get agreement signed before you bring devices. Be responsible for your device. School cannot be responsible for lost/stolen/damaged personal property. Label your device
