Hacer and Dar are irregular verbs in the preterite. Notice that these verbs do not have any accent marks in the preterite. Let’s review Hacer (to do/to make) past: did

The preterite stem for hacer is hic-. In the Ud/el/ella from, the c changes to a z so that it still has an “s” sound: hizo. Remember? You used the preterite tú form of hacer when you asked, ¿Qué hiciste?
