Presentation transcript:

What is the social networking? Social networking sites (SNS) have become a source for people to share their own experiences as they connect with other users and their experiences. SNS have become the present-day man’s third place (NMC 3). This “place” can be located at home and work (first and second places). These sites have become a way to connect with friends, family, and peers, and then to share photos, videos, stories, and let other users know what they are currently doing

Social Networking Allows to 1) construct a public or semi-public profile within a bounded system. 2) articulate a list of other users whom they share a connection 3) view and traverse their list of connections and those made by others within the system

Infantilism Infantilism is the persistence of infantile characteristics in adult life. Much like babies or young children constantly need stimulus, many scientists fear this is exactly what is happening to the adult mind

attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder The practice of logging on daily to see hundreds of new photos, comments, and user statuses have begun to take away our ability to keep our focus on something for more than an hour or two, making ADHD a very real and possible effect of SNS

Depression and Loneliness When interacting with someone through text messages, instant messaging, or , a large portion of how humans interact is gone.

Narcism Narcism, or the excessive love or admiration of oneself, has become one of the largest problems, especially in SNS users. This way of self-entitled thinking is very dangerous for any person. This can negatively affect how we see ourselves, as well as how we treat and perceive others.

Hypothesis Social Networking Sites become a larger portion of our lives; they have begun to damage their users, both mentally and socially.

Method I use the empirical social research which is evidence based also some part of the paper includes qualitative and quantative data. Main question of this paper is that: “What is the social networking sites negative effect on people? Thus, this is the explanatory research Dependent variable is that: Social Networking Sites, People Independent variable is that: infantilism, depression, loneliness and Narcism
