State of play in implementation of autonomous framework agreement on Harassment and Violence at work ETUC/CES/ EGB

1. Legal initiatives (directly or not directly related to the agreement): EU Commission: –Implementation of Dir. 2000/43/EC – infringement procedures against 14 MS –Implementation of Dir. 2000/78/ EC – infringement procedures against 10 MS –EP EMP Committee opinion on implementation of Dir. 2000/43/EC mentioning the agreement ECJ: Coleman Case (C-303/06) – AG opinion: Dir. 2000/78/EC – prohibition of discrimination covers “discrimination by association” Belgium: new law to reframe and reinforce existing legislation on the protection against violence and harassment at the workplace + new Royal Decree extending it to public sector UK: codification proposal for a single equality bill Croatia: Draft Act on Harassment and violence at work Slovenia: new articles on prohibition of all forms of harassment
