Norwegian Food A popular food in Norway is Grilled Salmon, which is a type of fish. A popular breakfast food in Norway is Seafood Bisque. It is a soup that contains different kinds of seafood. The people in Norway eat different kinds of game (meat) such as reindeer, duck, fowl, and moose. The Norwegians also eat Torsk - Cod: poached, simply served with boiled potatoes and melted butter. Kjøttboller is a popular food in Norway. It is a rougher version of the sweedish meatballs. They also eat Svinekoteletter which is pork chops. They are simply braised and served with potatoes and fried onions or whatever vegetables are available.

Norwegian Holidays The people in Norway celebrate Christmas on December 25, just like we do. However, in Norway, they call it Første Juledag. They also celebrate Labour Day on May 1 st. It is called Første mai. Another holiday they celebrate is Maundy Thursday, which is the Thursday before Easter Sunday. It is called Skjærtorsdag. Good Friday is the Friday before Easter Sunday, and is called Langfredag in Norway. Easter Sunday is called Første påskedag in Norway. Ascension Day is 39 days after Easter, and is called Kristi himmelfartsdag.

One sport that the Norwegians play is football. They also play ice hockey. Another popular sport in Norway is yacht racing, which is when they race their yachts. The Norwegians play rugby, which is a sport that was created in England in the early 19 th century. It is based on running with the ball in your hand. A popular sport in Norway is handball. The Norwegians also ski when it is very cold outside.

Places to Visit in Norway Norway is famous for its beautiful waterfalls. Oslo is the capital city of Norway. It has many viking ships that draw many visitors each year. The Laerdal Tunnel is 24 kilometers and runs under the mountains between Aurland and Laerdal. It is one of the longest tunnels in the world. Norway is also home to one of the busiest airports, Torp Airport. Rondane National Park is home to many wild animals and is a popular Norwegian hiking area. Glacier Arms of the Jostedal Glacier is the largest glacier in continental Europe.
