Adapting Primary Data Collection Checklist As a plenary group: Identify key stakeholders and their information needs Review checklist provided by your facilitators; agree on primary data collection needs Revise checklist as needed for tomorrow’s interviews: to fill gaps, clarify inconsistencies, ensure stakeholder concerns are considered Remember: consider time constraints of Initial EFSA!! 4

WFP Initial EFSA Learning Why do we need to adapt primary data collection tools? Each disaster is different, with different needs Different sets of secondary data will need verification/cross-checking; you may have to adapt primary data checklist accordingly 5

WFP Initial EFSA Learning Adapting the Checklist Clarify the objectives of the assessment: know why you are collecting the data Understand the context of the assessment Crisis? Village? Camp? Settlement? Other? Know to whom the questions are to be asked: Key Informant? Community Group? Household? 6
