Science Fair Project Title Your name Your science teacher’s name. First make a copy of this document with your first initial and last name. Then your period # and title. (Example: B.Like per. 4 Types of Plants in an Aquaponics Classroom Garden)

State the Question/Problem experiment Type your question here. (This is the question that your experiment answers.)

Abstract Insert your Abstract Here

Research Explain how your project works and is connected to the variables. Summarize your research here in three to five bullet points: 1 st bullet point 2 nd bullet point 3 rd bullet point 4 th bullet point 5 th bullet point

Research Explain how your project works and is connected to the variables. Summarize your research here in three to five bullet points: 1 st bullet point 2 nd bullet point 3 rd bullet point 4 th bullet point 5 th bullet point

Variables  Controlled variables: These are the things that are kept the same throughout your experiments.  Independent variable: The one variable that you purposely change and test.  Dependent variable: The measure of change observed because of the independent variable. It is important to decide how you are going to measure the change.

Hypothesis If (independent variable) then (dependent variable).

Materials  Type a detailed list of the items you needed to complete your experiments.  Be specific about the amounts used.

Procedures  List all of the steps used in completing your experiment.  Remember to number your steps.  Add photos of your experiments.

Data/Observations  It is easier to understand the data if it is put into a table or graph. Create a graph in Microsoft Excel and import it here.  Make sure all data is clearly labeled.  Check your title. Is it the Independent vs. the dependent variable?  Check your x and y axis. Are they in metric units? Are they in the same units of measure.  Check your data. Do you have data that doesn’t fit or looks wrong?

Data Analysis Type a brief summary here of what you discovered based on your graphs. Compare and contrast the results. Did the graphs look like how you thought they would? Why or why not. Explain. What data is out of the ordinary or doesn’t fit in. What type of slope did you have? Was it positive or negative and why? What was the range and how did any observations factor or play a part in the data? What connections can you make between the graphs and the results of your experiment? Here is the time to use the graph to explain any patterns that you find.

Conclusions Type a brief summary here of what you discovered based on the results of your experiments. You need to indicate whether or not the data supports the hypothesis and explain why or why not. Try to explain how you got that data. What there another factor at work or did you misunderstand the research? How did the research support or not support the data. What problems did you have in the experiment? How can you improve the project for the complex fair?

Bibliography  Be sure to include print and electronic sources and put them in alphabetical order.  List all your sources and give them the credit they deserve.  Also, make sure you cite any pictures or diagrams you used in a caption below the pictures.  If they are from the internet include the URL address.
