Important events during Washington’s Presidency Proclamation of Neutrality Whiskey’s Rebellion Jay’s Treaty Judiciary Act

Designed to keep America out of further wars Washington believed if they got involved in the European war it could mean destruction to the U.S through division or bringing the war to American shores.

1794-WHISKEY REBELLION  A group of farmers made attacks against exice taxers  Washington placed the matter in front of a Justice of Supreme Court  In September of that year Washington issued a proclamation ordering the militia to assemble a march and stop the Rebellion
