Task List Testing Intel Testbed Evaluation of Maxim Board Eliminated unnecessary components for board design Obtain an eye diagram Designed board layout Population of newly designed board Testing of the new board

Intel Testbed Connected fiber from TX to RX on opto-module Seated Intel network card onto a PCI slot. Used Intel Diagnostic Software – Loopback Test Picture provided by

Evaluation of Maxim Board Pins 7, 8, 9, and 10 were removed – Safety Features – Laser not mounted on Maxim board Pin 12 (OUT+) MUST be terminated with 50 Ohms. Drive Laser through pin 11 (OUT-) – Requires at least 3 mA up to a max of 6 mA.

Final Design Note: Pins 7 & 8 must be connected.

Eye Diagram Obtained from Maxim Board.
