Skeletal System pp What are the 5 functions of the Skeletal System? What is cartilage and where is it found? What is a joint? What are the two main types of joints? – What are the four kinds of movable joints? – What is a broken bone called and how does it repair itself?

Muscular System pp What are the two types of muscles and what is the difference between them? What are the three types of muscle tissues? Be able to tell me what type of muscle and what kind of muscle tissue a specific muscle is (like on the reinforcement worksheet) Know what it means for a muscle to contract and relax. What happens when the supply of glucose in a muscle is used up?

Skin pp What are the two layers of the skin? – What is can be found in each layer? What is melanin? How is melanin related to appearance? What are the 5 functions of the skin? Be able to identify and explain each. What is the function of sweat glands? Why do we need them? Why is an injury to the skin potentially dangerous?
