Is an isolated oceanic habitat of extremely rich marine life. Stands isolated in the pacific ocean. It is declared as a sanctuary of flora and fauna in Colombia. Its altitude is approximately of 1,000 meters. Has a lot of diversity of habitats and species.

Plant species are few and small: ferns, leguminous and grassy shrubs, mosses, lichens and algae. It has 17 marine mammal, 5 terrestrial and 7 marine reptile species. 61 species of birds, 394 species of fish and 340 species of molluscs.

One adaptation of the endemic crab is that it has large feet and this allows him to have a better mobility on the island. Another adaptation is that its big claws allows and help it feed better and protect better of predators. Another adaptation its is all-red color, allows it to camouflage in the territory of predators.

This ecosystem is important to the world because it helps preserve some organisms that are not well preserved in other parts of the world. Also because in this habitat, organisms can develop better and this would led to a better survival of this organisms.
