WELCOME BACK! GET OUT A SHEET OF PAPER AND A PEN/PENCIL TODAY, WE WILL BE LEARNING (AGAIN) HOW THIS CLASSROOM IS RUN. YOU WILL TAKE NOTES: TITLE THESE NOTES “CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT NOTES” YOU WILL HAVE A QUIZ OVER THESE NOTES AT THE END OF CLASS.

ENTERING THE ROOM Enter quickly and quietly. Do NOT block the doorway! Grab your colored folder, SSR book, and be in your seat BEFORE the bell rings. On Fridays, grab your composition notebook in addition to your folder. Turn in any Homework/make-up work into the trays BEFORE the bell rings. Have all materials for class BEFORE the bell rings.

SSR AND BOOK LOG Start class with 17 minutes of SSR EVERYDAY! You will read the SAME book EVRYDAY until you complete it. If you do not have a book of your own, you may borrow the book assigned to you. After 17 minutes, you will record what you read in your SSR Book Log. After we record in our book logs, the ASSISTANT OF THE WEEK/PEER TUTOR will gather my books and place them back in numerical order.

JUMPING INTO THE LESSON Monday-Thursday we will have Bell Work. Fridays we will have Writers’ Workshop. We will then take a Brain Break. This may be a game, a video, a puzzle, time to stretch, or something incredibly random. The purpose= to allow your brain to relax for a few minutes and refocus.
