Fashion Designers  Produce designs for clothing that will be sold in a particular market  Use design principles, fabrics, and construction techniques to transform their ideas to reality  Specialization is common in the design world  Examples:  Swimwear  Bridal gowns  Children’s clothing  Jewelry  Shoes

High-Fashion Designers  Designers are typically known for a special style or look that they create with their designs  Designers are responsible for most of the fashion company’s creative decisions.  Search for new ideas, design garments, choose fabrics and colors, and establish an image

Apparel Industry Designers  Most designers in the fashion industry don’t have name recognition.  They work for garment manufacturers that produce clothing for a particular brand or store label.
