Hearing God’s Voice

Half the world is composed of people who have something to say and can’t, and the other half is composed of those who have nothing to say and keep on saying it! The greatest problem in communication is the illusion that it has been accomplished.

Hearing God’s Voice Relationship is the key!

Hearing God’s Voice We need to be Childlike I Samuel 3:10 The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”

Hearing God’s Voice He was a novice 1 Samuel 3:7 Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord: The word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him. Many children have an openness and willingness that God wants all of us to have.

Hearing God’s Voice He was willing to learn Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Children are naturally curious and delight in discovering new truths.

Hearing God’s Voice He was obedient Be encouraged if the idea of hearing God’s voice is new to you. It was new for Samuel too. Remember that God had to call Samuel three times.

Hearing God’s Voice Conclusion What is God wanting to say to us individually & corporately? What do we need to do so that we can hear Him?

Hearing God’s Voice Father I thank You for the privilege of being Your child. I reverence Your majesty and power. Lord, as I think about what it means to have a relationship with You, remind me of the childlike characteristics You want to see in me. Help me put aside my traditions and religious prejudices so that I will be completely willing to receive both Your message and the way You want to give it to me. Then help me to respond to You like a child – obediently, spontaneously and wholeheartedly.
