These bodies are men in world war 1 that died from the horrible disease called trench fever that was found December Trench fever baffled doctors and researches until the final year.
Trench fever started with severe pain, muscle aches, skin rashes, headaches, inflamed eyes, leg pains, and a high fever.

Another medical condition that people called a disease was Trench foot.
Trench foot was caused by being in the water and not being allowed to take their wet boots and socks off for hours or even days at a time and cold unsanitary areas.
Trench foot is a fungal infection, it was more of a problem at the beginning of the trench warfare. But conditions improved in 1915.
In between 20 and 40 million people died of a disease that was no normal cold or flu. /
They found out that this horrible disease was called influenza. It was killing more people then in World War 1.
