CERNAVODA NPP ENVIRONMENTAL LABORATORY BUCUR CRISTINA CERNAVODA NPP-ROMANIA
INTRODUCTION CERNAVODA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT IS DEDICATED TO PRODUCE ELECTRICAL & THERMAL POWER IN A SAFE AND EFFICIENT MANNER FOR AT LEAST 30 YEARS, FROM NUCLEAR POWER USING CANDU TECHNOLOGY
ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AT CERNAVODA NPP factors which ensure that the public health and environment are adequately protected: source control effluent control effluent monitoring environmental monitoring
ENVIRONMENTAL ROUTINE RADIATION MONITORING PROGRAM designed to meet the following objectives under normal NPP operating conditions: to measure the radionuclide concentrations in environmental media; to provide an independent assessment of the effectiveness of the source control, effluent control and monitoring based on measurements in environment;
ENVIRONMENTAL ROUTINE RADIATION MONITORING PROGRAM (cont’d) to validate the models and parameters used in the calculation of the derived emission limits; to provide data to aid in the development and evaluation of models and methodologies that adequately describe the movement of the radionuclides through the environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING PROGRAM (cont’d)
All radionuclide analyses (10704 measurements on 6597 samples ) were carried out in the Environmental Control Laboratory located at 2 km from first reactor of Cernavoda NPP.
