Steps to Success

 Keeps lab quiet  Avoids disturbing others  Ensures that every student has a chance to ask for help

 Lights out = remove headphones and wait for instructions  When you finish, place headphones on monitor and tidy cords before pushing in your chair  Wait to be dismissed

 Preserves the computer so that all students may have an opportunity to use it  Saves money in repair and replacement costs

 “Four on the Floor”  Two hands on “Home Row”

 Use computers and video games in a well lit room.  Keep monitor as far from you as possible.  Take breaks often to prevent eye strain.  Adjust your monitor and keyboard for comfort and visibility.  Keep volume low to protect your hearing.

 Ensures that everyone receives credit for their own work and ideas  Maintains order in the lab  Allows instructors to provide accurate assistance where needed.

 Protect your identity  Keeps students safe from outside threats

 Protects your work in progress from unforeseen issues  Can save you from needing to duplicate your work
