Module 2: Keeping Good Attendance (Group Brainstorm)
Presentation transcript:

Rationale We all have something we would like to get rid of from our lives or from society In his novel Nineteen Eighty Four, George Orwell created a place called Room 101 This idea was adapted by the BBC when it created a programme called… Where guests could ‘dump’ anything that they did not like or find useful in life

 In your group, come up with 3 things you would like to place into room 101  You cannot put people from college into the room  You must give reasons for each of your choices  Members from the other groups will vote to decide which things you can ‘dump’ and which things you have to keep  Your aim (as a group) is to have all three of your choices dumped into room 101  The team to successfully achieve this will win room 101 Small Print: In the case of a draw, an extra round can be played as a final decider…all terms and conditions apply as directed by your lecturer!

 People could put their nightmares, problems, dislikes, fears and phobias into the room For example: you could put the England football team into room 101! Or world poverty, or men who wear socks with sandals! The choice is yours…

 I have decided to put football into room 101 (Choice)  …because it is just overpaid men prancing about for 90 minutes (Reason)  It causes lots of arguments in the pub (Reason)  It causes fights and it has inflicted the WAG culture upon the world (Reason)
