Picasa Area 2 CAT presentation by Derek Southern October 21, 2010
What is Picasa? Picasa is a free program for viewing, editing, organizing and sharing the photographs on your computer
Picasa
Your photographs are safe! Your ORIGINAL files are never touched! The photo edits you make are only viewable in Picasa until you decide to save your changes. Picasa saves a new version with your edits applied. This is ‘non-destructive’ editing!
Add photographs to Picasa You have total control over the photographs that Picasa displays. Picasa shows the photo and video file types you tell it to find – in the folders you tell it to search You can import photos into Picasa from many sources, including cameras, CDs, scanners, memory cards, and webcams
Three Types of Collections Folders: represent the folders on your computer. Albums: Only exist within Picasa. You can create ‘virtual groups’ of photos taken from multiple folders. People: facial recognition technology finds, and groups, similar faces together from your entire collection of photos.
