Be a polite and positive participant Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen attentively. Be productive Turn in work on time, and always do your best. Be a problem solver Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they escalate. Always follow instructions It will help your understanding of the material!
Show Respect Value yourself. Be honest and ethical, and practice strong moral values. Treat all members of the school community and all visitors with politeness and respect. Honor the ideas and opinions of others. Offer to help. Be responsible with property and belongings. **This is particularly important in labs. Lab supplies cost a lot and take a lot of time to set up. If you are irresponsible during labs you will be given an educationally equal alternative reading/writing assignment equal to the points assigned to the lab.
Responsibility for Coursework Bring binder, notebook, planner, and appropriate writing tools – pencil – pencil - pencil to class. Know due dates, and submit all coursework on time. Late lab/ project assignments are docked 10% each day it is late BUT you will never receive less than a 50% - turn in late work, it helps! Late homework is a 50% if it is turned in after we have already covered it in class. All assignments are posted on the chalk board and on the class Web site.
Promote Lifelong Learning You can develop lifelong learning traits: By showing curiosity about human nature and how the world works. By seeking and valuing diversity. By persisting in seeking out new solutions. By using your unique talents and intelligence to promote positive change. By learning and applying technology tools to solve problems.
Policies Food and beverages are not allowed in the classroom. This includes gum. Please be in your seat when the bell rings, as class begins at that time. Absences Ask team members, a classmate, or check the wiki first for missed assignments. See me for handouts you missed if you did not get it from the Wiki. You may ask for assignments before your absence, if I have it copied I will be happy to give it to you. Each absence has a one-day grace period for each day missed UNLESS it is a school obligation absence (ie - sports or field trip) then you are responsible for completing your work on time! Labs remain available for 1 week after it has been completed to ensure you have enough time to complete them.
Grading Grades are based on the accumulation of points. Points are based on: Tests/quizzes 40% Labs and activities 40% Homework 20% Check e-school plus for grades. If you can not get to e-school please contact the office. I can not get it for you.
My Pledge to Students I will trust you until you give me reason to do otherwise. I will respect you and work with you to solve problems. I will correct and offer feedback on your work. I will work with you to meet learning goals. I will offer extra help should you require it. You may come during any advisory but need to ask me to sign your agenda and you need to inform your advisory teacher that you will be with me. You may me at but I do not check from I care about you and your learning!
