Bridging the Gap An educator whom embraces technology is empowering themselves and their students for the adversity of change and for the triumphs of the 21 st century – 2003 Bridging the Gap … Making technology connections TIF Grant PS12 by Shane Huff

2002 – 2003 Bridging the Gap … Making technology connections PS12: Educational Technology

2002 – 2003 Bridging the Gap … Making technology connections Bridging the Technological Gap with TIF Funds TIF Board PS 12

2002 – 2003 Bridging the Gap … Making technology connections What are our goals for PS12? We must provide the tools necessary to empower Students and teachers. To increase the accessibility of computer workstations at Crandall Elementary and Crandall Intermediate Schools by adding a state-of-the-art multimedia computer lab with 25 desktops, a LCD projector, Smartboard, and color laser printer.

2002 – 2003 Bridging the Gap … Making technology connections PS12 Goals Teachers link technology and learning in the instructional lessons that they create; for a classroom environment that supports technology invites students to explore ideas, clarify meaning, and construct knowledge. 80% of our teachers at each campus use technology in their classroom on a regular basis. Administrators, teachers, and students embrace, explore, and are empowered by technology.

2002 – 2003 Bridging the Gap … Making technology connections Technology and You Together Multimedia Learning Centers 25 Multimedia Computers Color Printers Additional Network Access & Storage Smartboards Projection Devices PS12 Increases Student Achievement Allows teachers to meet TEKs mandates Training Teachers Community Parents

2002 – 2003 Bridging the Gap … Making technology connections $10,000 will be provided locally by Crandall ISD 50 Desktop Computers $80, Color Laser Printer $10, Smart boards $ LCD Projectors $ Servers $10, TIF Tech Training$ Total Grant Expenditure$109, How much will it cost?

2002 – 2003 Bridging the Gap … Making technology connections Bridging the technological gap one campus at a time. The proposed project for Crandall Independent School District will address the issues of the lack of access to multi-media computers for the integration of technology into content areas and the availability of multi-media computers for technology training. Crandall ISD has worked to build an environment conducive for technology integration, although the District lacks the sufficient number of workstations to effectively and efficiently integrate technology into all content areas. What will PS12 Accomplish?

2002 – 2003 Bridging the Gap … Making technology connections When the technology of today is used today instead of tomorrow. The solution to the problem is to purchase 50 multi-media computers, two color laser printers, two smart boards, and two LCD projectors to establish an up to date multi-media lab at each campus. In addition two additional servers will also be required to manage the additional workload of the two multi-media labs to maintain the integrity of the CISD network infrastructure. What will PS12 Accomplish?
