Objectives Students should be able to recognize and label the different parts of a ladybug given a picture with 95% accuracy Students should be able to say all important facts on ladybugs when asked with 75% accuracy Students will be able to identify different types of ladybugs given a picture with 85% accuracy

Motivation While watching this learning presentation you will be able to learn everything about ladybugs! Their color, what they eat, how they live etc.! Make sure you pay attention because whoever answers the questions, gets candy!

The Parts of a Ladybug There are 8 parts to a Ladybug: Head Antenna Eyes Pronotum Throax and Abdomen Elytra Wings Legs

The Parts of a Ladybug- Head: The head is round and thin.

Parts of a Ladybug- Antenna: Helps the ladybug smell, taste, and find their way around.

Parts of a Ladybug- Eyes: A ladybug has 2 eyes, but cannot see very well. Everything they see is in black and white.

Parts of a Ladybug- Pronotum: This is the part right behind the ladybug’s flat head and makes the head look round. Also, it helps protect the head.

Parts of a Ladybug- Thorax and Abdomen: This is the section the wings and legs are connected to. Also, where the digestive system is located.

Parts of a Ladybug- Elytra: This is the hard “shell” that covers the wings. Also, this is the part that holds the ladybugs color.

Parts of a Ladybug- Wings: The wings actually do not help the ladybug fly, they make the ladybug more clumsy.

Parts of a Ladybug- Legs: Ladybugs have 6 short little legs that help them walk and smell.
