Why Text in the classroom?

2013 Statistics 90% of all text messages are read within 3 minutes. On average, it takes 90 minutes for people to respond to an , but only 90 seconds to respond to a text message. 3 out of every 5 searches are conducted on a mobile device. Over 97% of text messages are opened, while only 22% of s are opened

Teenage Statistics No one texts more than teens (age 13-17). They send an average of 3,339 text messages per month (6 every hour) Teen females send and receive an average of 4,050 texts per month. Teen males also outpace other male age groups, sending and receiving an average of 2,539 texts. 43 percent of teens (age 13-17) claim texting is their primary reason for getting a cellphones QWERTY input is the first thing they look for choosing their devices. 94 percent of teen subscribers self-identify as advanced data users, turning to their cellphones for messaging, Internet, multimedia, gaming, and other activities like downloads.

Welcome to the Future… By 2014, mobile internet usage will overtake desktop internet usage.
