Frankfurt Frankfurt is one of the older cities in Germany. Its buildings are gothic style, and is also one of the more populated German cities. Frankfurt is one of the older cities in Germany. Its buildings are gothic style, and is also one of the more populated German cities.

Berlin Berlin is the most populated city in Germany, with a stunning 3.4 million people. Berlin is the capital state of Germany. All of Germany’s parliament is in Berlin. Berlin is more than 1/3 forests, parks, gardens, rivers, and lakes!

Berlin Wall When Berlin was split into West and East Berlin, the Berlin Wall was put to keep West and East Berliners apart. It was up for 28 years.

Brandenburg Gate The Brandenburg Gate is a very important icon of Berlin. Originally built as a customs post, the gate was an integral part of the Berlin Wall and remained locked for the duration of the Communist rule. When the wall that was once the boundary between East and West Berlin was knocked down, the gate became an important symbol of German reunification and it is the only one out of 18 such gates that now remains.

Oktoberfest Munich claims it has the best beer in the world, and 6 million visitors would agree. Oktoberfest is known worldwide as a celebration of Bavarian beer and lasts several weeks long, from mid- September to early October. The 200 year old festival includes events such as parades, beer tents, music features, feasts of authentic German cuisine, and exhibits.

Traditional German Food German food can consist from anything from bread to sausage to fruit. Sausage Cheese Fruit Bread

German Housing German houses are usually square and on a block, and can be any color.

Neuschwanstein Castle The Neuschwanstein is a large castle built during the 19 th century as a retreat and homage to Richard Wagner. It is the most visited building in Germany and the most popular tourist attraction.

The Black Forest The Black Forest is a wooded-mountain range in southwestern Germany. It is bordered by the Rhine River to the west and south.

Sports In Germany The most popular sport in Germany is soccer. The German men’s and women’s soccer teams are both soccer powers. Men’s TeamWomen’s Team

More Sports… Some other popular sports are: Rugby, luge, cycling, ice hockey, basketball, and even some motor sports like F1 racing.

Advent Since 1393, the German people have celebrated Advent, a romantic pre-Christmas event. You will find beautiful Christmas markets with fairy lights and romantic huts all over the country. There are plenty of hand-crafted Christmas decorations, Christmas pyramids and nativity scenes to place at the heart of your Christmas display.

Easter?! Even the Germans celebrate Easter! They decorate and color eggs, hide them, and then wait for the “bunny” to come. How fun! Wow!

German Inventions German inventions have shaped our lives. They have invented (of course, beer) a form of an engine, toothpaste, computers, TV’s, the Theory of Relativity… The list goes on and on.

The end! Thanks for checking out my Adopt a Country Page!
