Temptation Loving God with our Time
Ephesians 5:15-17 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.
Mark 1:35-39 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. 36 Simon and his companions went to look for him, 37 and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!” 38 Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.” 39 So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.
John 5:19 Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.”
John 12:49 For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken.
John 14:31 I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me.
John 17:4 I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.
John 11:6 when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days
Sometimes saying “Yes” to the Father means saying “No” to the urgent demands of human need.
“I don’t have time for that” means “I value something else as a higher priority”
