The stage You can lower the stage and lock it in a down position. This aides in switching out specimens for study. When in down position, press down on the stage and it will unlock and raise to appropriate height
Adjusting brightness Viewing through eye pieces Make sure preset switch is off (out) Rotate brightness control knob to increase or decrease brightness of image Photomicroscopy Push in preset switch Adjust brightness using either camera exposure settings or ND filter in/out
Diopeter adjustment Focus on specimen using 40X objective Set 10X objective in place Hold hand over one eye and focus on image using diopeter ring Hold hand over other eye and focus on specimen using diopeter ring
Optical path/light distribution Fully depressed : 100% to eyes Partially depressed: 20% to eyes – 80% to camera Fully out: 100% to camera
Numerical Aperture 1 .8 .6 .4 .2 .1 Numerical aperture number listed on objective tells you what setting to use with the aperture diaphragm.

Annotate: This allows you to make notations and shapes on the figure and save them for future viewing Binning: If you need faster response time from camera during live viewing Exposure: If auto exposure is not giving satisfactory results, change to manual and have fun White balance: move specimen away from camera and hit Auto White while viewing the null space To capture: Hit Auto and it will capture the image and drop it into the thumbnail gallery below

Calibrations Camera is calibrated for all of our objectives. Just select the objective being used with the captured image for proper calibration
Immersion medium We DO NOT have any objectives which can use special immersion mediums (water, glycerol or oil). Do not use these mediums with these objectives.
