Probability: What is it?

Probability

Probability: the likelihood or chance that a given event will occur

The weather in Ramsgate is likely to stay cloudy all day. It is probable that the temperature will be 10°C. There is fifty/fifty chance of rain and clouds later in the day. There is a good chance if the rain comes in, we will have lightning.

Title: Weather Reports Using Probability Vocabulary Write a weather report using key vocabulary linked to probability. Make some statements about the weather from the information on your worksheets. Underline the probability words in your weather reports. Think about: Does this event happen all the time? Can unexpected things happen when we are predicting the weather?

Self Assessment: Do you feel confident using probability vocabulary? Is this your best possible work? How could you improve your work? Have you achieved today's aim?
