 Everyday, police officers, FBI’s, and other people in the Law Enforcement field are getting more advanced technology. It’s gotten to the point where the cop doesn’t even need to pull you over and get out of his car for him to give you a ticket. At the end of the day, he just prints tickets out for people who he had scanned that had an expired inspection sticker or for someone who was driving without a license. Before we know it, things will get a lot more advanced. Technology in Law Enforcement

 Some examples of Law Enforcement technology would be things such as a GPS system, body armor, and speeding radars, and computers to open documents and information about people that they pull over or license plate owners that seem suspicious.

 It is essential for law enforcement executives to stay current with ongoing technological developments. The Future

 Crime Lights: Now, with the arrival of a number of flashlights—each with a different preset wavelength designed to detect hair, fibers, and body fluids at crime scenes—these lights allow a crime scene to be processed faster and more thoroughly than ever before.  Lasers:. If an officer needs to scan a suspicious powder, these devices will reveal the chemical makeup of that powder with 95 percent certainty.  Automatic License Plate Recognition: Technology now enables officers to check thousands of license plates per shift to determine if vehicles are stolen, if registered owners are wanted, or if there are restraints on registered owners’ driver’s licenses. The system takes a picture of the car license plate and then processes the numbers and letters using optical character recognition software against a known database.

Biometrics The same software that has been used to identify high rollers and cheats in casinos, for example, can now be used to single out people banned from football stadiums or terrorists on a watch list at key border-control points. Similar biometrics, including iris recognition, are now used to match passengers to their digital images on e- passports at border crossings all over the world, something that was unthinkable a decade ago.
