Plot: the series of related events with in a literary work

Plot Chart Exposition: This usually occurs at the beginning of a short story. Here the characters are introduced. We also learn about the setting of the story. Most importantly, we are introduced to the main conflict (main problem). Exposition: This usually occurs at the beginning of a short story. Here the characters are introduced. Conflict The tension created between two or more characters within a literary work. The height of tension is called the climax.
