Consideration of Grant Awards for the Local Government Waste Tire Cleanup and Amnesty Event Grant Program for FY 2006/2007

Combined Two Grant Programs: Local Government Waste Tire Cleanup Program: Provides funding to local governments for the removal, transport, Provides funding to local governments for the removal, transport, and end use or disposal of waste tires from stockpiles or nuisance dumping. Amnesty Event Program: Provides funding to local governments for collection events to allow the public to bring waste tires to convenient locations for proper management. Cost Recovery Grant Program’s Cost Recovery Policy: Requires property owners with more than 500 tires to sign an affidavit under penalty of perjury that they were not responsible and that cost recovery may be pursued. 2 Applicants are proposing to cleanup private properties with more than 500 tires: Plumas County has submitted affidavits from 2 property owners stating tires were a pre-existing condition.
