Location China is location on the continent, Asia.

Religion There are three basic religions in China. These religions are Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism. Confucianism- developed by Confucius; The belief is that humans are teachable, improvable, and perfectible. Daoism- developed by Laozi; it is based on the belief that everything in nature has a spirit Buddhism- developed by Siddhartha Gautama; This religion includes the ideas of karma, rebirth, and the practice of yoga

Culture activities Acrobatics One of the most popular art forms in China Includes numerous performances such as lion dance, cycling feats, and hoop diving. These performances remind us of the industry, resourcefulness, and courage of the Chinese people. Martial Arts Martial arts are a multitude of different fighting styles that have developed over the years The styles of these fights are often classified according to common traits such as strength.

Things to See Great Wall of China- This remarkable wall is 5,500 mi. long. The Forbidden city- This is the place where the Ming and Qing dynasty emperors stayed. Terracotta Warriors- thousands of life size statues that were buried Bird’s Nest- stadium where the 2008 Olympics were held.

Geography/ Climate The geography is varied across China. western China consists of mountains with a huge desert The north and south are made up of rice fields. Rivers play a huge role in the everyday Chinese culture. The climate is dominated by dry seasons and wet monsoons. Winter winds are cold and dry. Summer winds are warm and moist.

Music Played on solo instruments of small ensembles The oldest instruments are bamboo pipes and qin. Instruments are divided into categories based on material. For example, some are animal skins, gourd, bamboo, and wood. Opera is very popular. All music is melodic rather than harmonic. Vocal music is traditionally solo.
