Story Elements  Major characters: Maker, Feathered Serpent, and Heart Of Sky (creators)  Minor characters: Animals, mud humans, wood humans, power full men, and weaker men.  Setting: Earth and Heaven  Theme: Keep trying until you get it right  Conflict: The creators kept failing to make life.  Solution: They got corn and veggies to make perfect humans.

Story Events  1: There was a silent world  2: The creators created Earth by saying “Earth! Earth!”  3: The creators made animals.  4: The animals could not praise the creators  5: Then the creators made humans out of mud.  6: The mud humans fell apart and drifted away in the ocean.  7: The creators made people out of wood.  8: The wood people had no mind, so the creators made a flood to wash them away  (CLIMAX): The creators go to a mountain called Broken Place and get corn and vegetables to make people.  9: They make humans with flesh and blood.  10: The humans were to intelligent, so the creators made them weaker so they couldn’t see that far.

Myth Justification Element 1 It tries to explain nature. Explains common questions such as, what causes a storm? Proof It tells us how the creators made life. I know this because it tells us how they did it step by step. Element 2 Talks about all the characters and human behaviors. Proof It talks about all of the character traits of all their life creations. Element 3 Events are usually impossible. Proof One part that was impossible was when the wooden dummies came to life. Element 4 Handed down through history by word of mouth. Proof I now this is handed down by history because there is no author name. Element 5 Myths usually teach a moral or lesson. Proof In this story the lesson is to never give up.
