Margaret Wise Brown’s The Important Book provided the inspiration for this project. We chose to write about the penny because 2009 is the 100 th year of the Lincoln Penny, as well as the year of Lincoln’s 200 th birthday.

The Important Book The most important thing about a penny is you can roll it. It has Abraham Lincoln on it. You can find them on the floor. It’s shaped like a doughnut but it doesn’t have a hole. But the most important thing about a penny is you can roll it. By Cassie
