► War finally erupted again between Britain and France (The Seven Years War).

► This war would be different from any in the past because it would involve all of their colonies throughout the world (some historians consider this the first true “world war”).

► At first, the war went badly for the British.

► At first, the war went badly for the British. They were losing battle after battle in Europe and had a series of forts captured by the French in the interior of North America. (Fort Oswego)
