Students by universities -108 students Situation 1/2014

Students' practical placements

LESSONS LEARNED ….. Positives: System of offering practical placement without additional stimuli has proven good as students apply for placement only if they are really interested. It turned out to be an important idea of providing practical placements also for other Czech universities – organization asked for students with various skills and fields of study.

LESSONS LEARNED ….. Negatives: Other universities' staff did not pass information about practical placements to students Neutral: Students usually lost interest in practical placement, if appropriate placement could not been found in three months period from enlistment of a student in the database,

Practical placement Positives: 12 students find job in organizations 15 students find part time job during summer holiday Students got a lot of useful information and present it on seminars Negatives: 2 supervisors don't care about the students 2 students was not able to finish practical placement.

INTERACTIVE THEMATIC SEMINARS Seminars should serve as a imaginary link between organizations and students on the level of presentations as well as on personal level.

LESSONS LEARNED Positives: Representatives from participating organization have good opportunity to meet together Lectures were of good quality and not only students got to know many new and interesting viewpoints and facts.

LESSONS LEARNED Negatives: There is very good linkage between practical placements and seminars. On the other hand much worse linkage is between seminars and workshops. This caused problems as many workshop attendees lacked understanding of concepts presented at the seminar.

Topics and dates of seminars Methods and strategies of brownfields regeneration, mitigation measures, sustainable development of areas – ReDevelopment – PPP, management, financing, legislative framework of brownfields regeneration – Urban and architectural quality and sustainability of brownfields regeneration projects – Environmental and technical aspects of brownfields regeneration – Financial aspects and management in brownfields regeneration – management, financing – Sociological issues of brownfields regenerations –

Seminars Positives: About 300 student attended seminars About 50 experts have a presentation on our seminars More 3O person from cooperation organization per seminar Negatives: one presentation no longer than 45 minuets Excursion more interesting for organization than students

Workshops Workshop “Alexander Mine – cultural and technical heritage open to its surroundings and the region” listopadu 2011 Workshop “ Where is the lost glory of Předlice?”– 11. – v Ústí nad Labem

Workshops Workshop “What should be done to bring back life to Hrušov?” - Ostrava Czech republic Workshop “Brownfields in Trnava – how to make use of them”– Trnava, Slovakia 23. –

LESSONS LEARNED Positives: Students from different universities and different of fields of study were brought to work together on common problem. Negatives: Students who did not attend seminar preceding the workshop lacked knowledge of some concepts presented at seminar so they tended to "reinvent the wheel".

Workshops Positives: About 150 student attended workshops Students from 6 universities Students cooperation
