World Language Assessment Team What have we been up to and how can we help you?

What we do:  Put together by DPI to help create Assessment Examples for World languages based on Proficiency Levels and Essential Standards.

Levels of Proficiency for speaking  Parrot- Novice - Repeats everything.  Intermediate- Can create language using familiar topics related to their daily lives.  Advanced- communicate with accuracy and fluency, comfortable with a wide range of topics.

Novice- Low, Mid, High Intermediate- Low, Mid, High Advanced- Low, Mid, High Each level has strands 1- Interpersonal 2- Interpretive 3- Presentational 4- Cultural Proficiency levels

Activity Time!!!!!! Using the Home page for the Wiki, search for the Assessment Examples by putting AE in the search box. Choose the first instance that comes up. Choose 3 different Assessments, and, as a group, decide how you would use these in your classroom on Assessment day. What would you change?
