Astrophotography The hunt for darker skies

Celestron advanced series GT C100ED-R

Next generation of Astronomer

Combat light pollution buy a filter Just one of the accessories that is available to help you combat light pollution when carrying out astrophotography.

Removing your 35mm lens The filter is only designed for cameras that are mounted directly to the telescope. If the lens is refitted it will crack the filter.

Fitting the filter Make sure the filter is fitted with the words facing the front. Gently press into place while avoiding touching the glass during the installation.

Removing the filter. The filter is held in place by spring plastic clips at the bottom. To remove just ease out gently from the top.

Ready to mount! Your canon 350D is now ready to use.

Time to find some dark skies or perhaps not! Orion nebula without light pollution filter. 20 second exposure. ISO speed 1600

Orion in greater detail Orion Nebula with light pollution filter. 4 minute exposure. ISO speed 1600
