Trouble Shooting with the Customer Questions to ask the Customer to help find the problem with their automobile.

Have them Describe the problem take good notes so you can relay the information to the mechanic that is working on the car.

Exactly what are the symptoms u Symptoms when starting u _turns over too slowly u _turns over properly, but starts hard u _turns over properly, but does not start u _must turn over too long before it starts u _I must press the gas pedal for the engine to start

Symptoms when starting cont. u _starts normally but then stalls, will not run u _idle speed is rough when engine is cold u _idle speed is rough when engine is hot

Symptoms when driving u _hesitates or stalls when I speed up u _stalls when I slow down or stop short u _lacks power or misses when vehicle is running on road u _knocks or "pings" u _keeps running after I turn it off u _backfires (popping noise) u _speed changes without my touching the gas pedal
