WIN-WIN Strategies Foundation and the George Mason University Immersion Project

Foundation History Founded by Lori Remley Mody, formerly of SIGNAL Corporation (now General Dynamics) calendar is first year of operation.

Mission The Mission of WIN WIN Strategies Foundation is to build communities of practice that support the advancement of K-12 education through technology.

Mission CoP Members: –Schools (Teachers, Administrators, Students) –Families (Students, Parents) –Communities (Policy Makers, Community Leaders) CoP Effect: –To change everything about technology’s role in education.

Current Projects CoP’s in High School Pyramids. Identify high schools to take the lead. Understand, document and share “best practices” around technology. Promote the development of Technology Learning Centers (TLC’s) in elementary schools. Provide assistive materials (TLC Survival Kit) and programs (Empower Girls/SWAT/Learn and Serve) to the high school CoP.

Current Projects CoP of National Best Practitioners. GMU study will identify those schools, educators and administrators that use best practices around technology integration. WWSF will invite them into a Community of Practice where they will share knowledge and experiences. WWSF will apply lessons learned from this CoP to trailing edge schools.

Current Projects Professional Development for Teachers. Promote/develop replicable teacher training programs and centers. Develop teacher “exchange” programs (CEO’s x Principals; Business Execs x Teachers, Teachers x Teachers, etc).

Current Projects Technology Learning Centers Fund the build out of strategic TLC’s in schools.

Online CoP Features Peer-to peer-tools that promote collaboration, resource sharing, chats, project and lesson development. Password protected areas for parents and students. Community site devoted to dialog on education issues.
