Assessment vs. Testing Assessment Testing “appraising or estimating the level or magnitude of some attribute of a person” (Mousavi, as cited in Brown & Abeywickrama, 2010, p. 3) It is: Ongoing process Wide range of methodological techniques Never ending a subset of assessment, a genre of assessment technique, which is “prepared administrative procedures that occur at identifiable times in a curriculum when learners uster all their faculties to offer peak performance, knowing that their responses are being measured and evaluated.” (Briwn & Aeywickrama, 2010, p. 3) It is: A method  instrument, technique, procedures or items Measurement  score Measure of an individual ability A measure of performance, implies competence Measure a domain
