CTF3 MEETING AT CERN 17/July/ PRESENT STATUS OF THE CIEMAT CONTRIBUTION TO CTF3 Luis García-Tabarés, on behalf of the Accelerators Group at CIEMAT

CTF3 MEETING AT CERN 17/July/ ONGOING CONTRIBUTIONS * MOVERS FOR THE TBL QUADS * STRIPLINE KICKER * TAIL CLIPPER KICKER * PETS

CTF3 MEETING AT CERN 17/July/ MOVERS STATUS A first prototype built at CIEMAT was delivered to CERN and tested End switches were too weak and replaced with stiffer ones. A base structure was also required by CERN With these modifications two new units were ordered to industry At present two companies are manufacturing these new movers (Aciturri and Ramen) These two movers should be finished in one month (at least the first one)

CTF3 MEETING AT CERN 17/July/ CTF3 KICKER STATUS Kicker already installed at CTF3 Combiner Ring. No problems found although it still has not extracted particles.

CTF3 MEETING AT CERN 17/July/ CTF3 KICKER STATUS Design is already finished. Practically all the materials & components have been acquired. Electrodes have been manufactured Test devices have been received or will be soon at CIEMAT (Including the pulsed power supply). Still waiting for the reception of some more CERAMASEAL feedthroughs. Delivery will depend on the reception of the feedthroughs and the ability to achieve mbar

CTF3 MEETING AT CERN 17/July/ PETS STATUS (1/2) – SINGLE BAR The first 800 mm long bar has been successfully measured with the RF test bench There is a 89º phase shift per cell corresponding to a detuning of 68 MHz and 13% power losses. Most of these losses are associated to geometrical errors and poor electrical contact of the test bench and should be much smaller in the real PETS

CTF3 MEETING AT CERN 17/July/ PETS STATUS (1/2) – FULL ASSEMBLY A test of the fully assembled 8 bars is foreseen in the next two months. The design of the power extractor is finished. Different brazing tests have been performed with bad results The complete design of the PETS is finished. Fabrication of the 8 bars will start soon as well as the manufacturing of the outer shell (both ordered) Fabrication of the refrigeration system will be launched when a successful brazing procedure will be defined
