Physical Environment  Backpacks will be placed underneath your desks (out of the aisles).  Hands can be cleaned using the hand sanitizer or hand wipes.  Please leave food in your backpacks. Bottled water must be capped and placed on the floor.  Watch out for plugs!  Printer is in the back of the classroom.

 Please close your laptops (not all the way) if I say, “Lids down, please.”  Please ask before printing ANYTHING.  ALWAYS log-out at the end of your session.  Please do not surf the internet or “play around”. Please stay on task! Working with the laptops

Unpacking your laptop…  When your name/number is called, please come to the back to retrieve your laptop.  Look for your laptop number.  GENTLY pull it out of the shelf with two hands (not all the way) and be be weary of the plug cord.  CAREFULLY wiggle out the plug.

Unpacking your laptop… (continued)  Carry the laptop with TWO HANDS to your desk. Please don’t carry it under your arms. Express your undying LOVE for the laptop by clutching it close to your chest.  Please walk SLOWLY and CAREFULLY back to your seat. Watch out for plugs!  Place your laptop on your desk.  Open the lid and begin working.

Packing your laptop…  Carry the laptop back with two hands.  Walk slowly and watch out for plugs!  Find YOUR laptop number and locate YOUR plug. Don’t use someone else’s plug!  Find your plug hole on the side of your laptop and gently insert the plug. Notice the ORANGE ring around the plug.

Packing your laptop (continued)  GENTLY place your laptop (with the open lid button facing YOU) into the slot that has the matching number of your laptop.  Slowly return to your seat. Watch out for plugs!

Consequences… =(  If eating, you forfeit the use of the laptop for a week.  If found on a website not authorized by your teacher, you lose your laptop for the rest of the day and the next day.  If you’re wandering around the room w/o permission, you will be asked to stand in the back for 10 minutes.

Appropriate computer use includes…  Following all directions at all times.  Not straying from the task at hand.  Using the technology to engage others in POSITIVE and ENCOURAGING conversation.  Having fun!

Let’s embark on this new journey, shall we?!
