Question 3

Star attractions. My film however, doesn’t have any stars to attract an audience which could’ve been a big contributing factor in attracting a much wider audience. My film is also unlikely to appear in cinema for a long period of time as the production is independent and unlikely to attract a mass audience.

Marketing  In my opinion the best way to advertise the film would be a simple title with some credits as shown at the end of my opening sequence.  Another good place to advertise my film, would be to show them at film festivals allowing more people who enjoy films to come and view it to help word of mouth advertising.  I believe my film could be targeted at a mass audience as it is suitable for almost everyone, and contains humour which isn’t very difficult to understand. This does open up the film to being distributed by a Major Hollywood Studio.

Online I believe the film would best be marketed online as that is where the majority of the target audience will hear about new films from. More and more converged technologies allow media productions such as my film to be easily advertised to the films target audience, people with search histories similar to topics brought up in the film could be advertised to individually. Smart phones also allow people to be targeted via apps, allowing us to directly spread the word about the film. Youtube is another excellent place to host trailers and teasers from the film as it is the place where many of our target audience to find information on new films, as well as for viewing other unrelated videos.

Production company I think that independent production companies would distribute my film, as it has quite an indie feel to it, and an independent production company would help keep its charm, whereas a major Hollywood studio, might cause the product to lose its comedic charm.
