FDSN WG III Coordination of Products, Tools and Services Tuesday 13 January :00-18:30

Proposed Agenda – 1.5 hour Introductory Remarks and Business Sign-in Sheet Approval of 2007 WG III minutes Review and Approval of WG III Charge Status of Existing products Probability density functions and PQLX New Products and Services Tomographic Models Standardization of formats/services Luca Postpischi 3D visualization service Coordinated Metadata Service Station service Real time stations Archived stations Can ‘IRIS-like’ virtual networks be maintained

FDSN WG III Charge Coordination of Products, Tools and Services FDSN WGIII will identify standard products that may be produced by FDSN data centers. WGIII will advocate product uniformity and methods of production for FDSN products. WG III will advocate development and distribution of standard software tools that will support the production of FDSN products. WGIII will propose methods of product discovery by a user and methods of product distribution.

Status of Probability Density Functions How many networks are producing PDFs? How many are using PQLX?

Tomographic Models Luca Postpischi’s proposal Json Proposed xyz value format

Luca Postpischi

Simple Tomographic Format

Submission of Tomo Model Data Regular Grid Json Format Model Contributor netCDF

Model Viewers GEON IDV Works on netCDF files Developing an interactive map based model slicing tool GMT based viewers Script based Model Repositories

Coordinated Metadata service Authoritative dataless SEEDs per network code FDSN Web site has URIs to network dataless SEED Access Methods access DHI ArcLink

Station Service How can the FDSN produce a service to show Realtime FDSN stations Archived FDSN stations Can “Virtual Networks” be maintained within the FDSN?

Other Issues?
