BYSL AGM Meeting November 5, 2009

BYSL Quiz How many kids does BYSL register in this past fiscal year? What is the youngest age group? U? How much of the player registration fees has been used to fund Soccer Under the Lights? What did BYSL pay the YMCA this year?

Overview What is BYSL? BYSL is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization with a fiscal year ending on July 31. BYSL is affiliated with Idaho Youth Soccer (IYSA) BYSL is the umbrella organization for youth aged U6 to U19 that participate in BYSL programs. Each club (Ballistic, Odyssey, & Xtreme) has its own governing board which establishes its own rules, philosophy, fees, etc. Since they’re under the BYSL umbrella, the clubs also comply with BYSL and IYSA.

Players & Coaches All players and coaches are registered with IYSA as part of BYSL. BYSL Board Members Serve terms of 3 years and are subject to a 6 year term limit. Should have the “volunteer” spirit and be motivated to do more then just attend the BYSL meetings. Program Directors Appointed by the BYSL President Essential cogs that keep the BYSL programs going Overview Who is BYSL?

Junior High League Director – Mark Oliver BYSL organizes and runs the League for BYSL/GCYSL/MYSL/JCSL/FCSL. League stretches from Ashton to Pocatello –1–14 Girls Team (2008) 19 (2009) –1–17 Boys Teams (2008) & (2009)

Field Development Director - Mackay Hanks Soccer Under the Lights- Status –Sprinklers have been installed –Grass has been planted –Curbing is in for new access road –Bases for light poles have been installed.

Field Development Director - Mackay Hanks Soccer Under the Lights- What remains –Purchase and installation of light poles $150K –Wiring the poles- $7.5K –Fencing –Scoreboards –Sound System

Training Director of Coaching-Charlie Brizzee Licensure/Education 13 BYSL coaches received E Licenses from the clinic in March. 11 BYSL candidates, 8 received National D 2 BYSL coaches traveled to CA for an NSCAA Residential course and received National certificates Training Budget Board approved 16.5% Coach’s Training budget increase for Visit BYSL website for training dates and times ODP Developmental series for 5 weeks in Idaho Falls in June First Annual UK Elite Camp with 63 campers in July – UKE was very pleased at the numbers for a 1 st year camp – all proceeds to SUTL Registration 59 coaches registered in Spring coaches in Fall 2009

Equipment Manager – Jodi Smith BYSL provides balls, nets, corner flags, pennies, discs & cones to coaches All equipment (except balls) should be returned to BYSL when the coach “retires” Equipment Manager –Orders the equipment –Distributes to coaches as needed
