Learning Styles A strategy for every student, every situation

Participating In Class Color code class notes. Organize in columns. Use unlined paper and draw diagrams or charts

Participating in Class Ask permission to tape lectures. Take notes, review handouts. Outline afterwards.

Participating in Class Take active notes to associate movement with lesson.

Studying At Home Color code notes / textbook Pay special attention to charts and diagrams Read text out loud. Discuss reading assignments with friends.

Studying At Home Outline, paraphrase, summarize. Reserve conference room in Scarborough Library. Pace while reading or reciting aloud. Act out lessons.

Test Prep If permissible, draw charts and outlines on tests when first given. Close eyes and visualize notes.

Test Prep Ask your instructor or arrange permission with Disability Support Services for isolation during testing, so you can talk your way through the test.
