Hearing – How We Hear Sound
Presentation transcript:

 The piece of music which will be played presently is specially formed. It has been made such that the vibrations produced by its sound activates the energy centers and provides peace to the brain, mind and the body.  It helps to connect oneself to the hidden cosmic energy source of the universe and infuses the body with peace and new found energy.  While the music is being played, feel that it is a part of an enormous eternal source of pure cosmic energy.

 Let yourself be absorbed into the melody of this sound. Feel that it has brought divine bliss, peacefulness and satisfaction to you.  Feel yourself and your personality to be immersed into this sea of peace which is purifying your thoughts.

 The ear in human body is the most sensitive and powerful radar in the world.  If the external disturbances are removed, apart from unique capacities of sensing, filtering and identifying a large variety of sounds in the spectrum of audible frequencies- the ear can sense (low in pitch to loudness) sounds from long distances.

 Example: In silent surrounding, we can hear the buzzing sound of a bee from about 6 ft distance.

 The thickness of tympanum inside our ear(fine sensor) is 1/10,00,00,000 mm (ultra thin membrane). The sensing power of this ultra thin membrane is times more than the most powerful sensor developed by the modern technology.  It has been tested by AT&T BELL Laboratory, New Jersey, USA that it can discriminate about 4000 different kinds of sound. The noted musicians can recognize individual sound of each of the 100 odd instruments of an orchestra when played jointly.

 The tympanum of our ears focuses the receiving sound waves at one point and sends them through a connective tube where these waves are transformed into electrical signals.  Each of the sonic vibrations received at tympanum are propagated deep inside the connecting channel by about 3500 tiny particles, working as electrical transmitter. The brain instantaneously sends the signal to the memory cell. Our memory has direct link with the power of perception and recognition of sounds received by our ear.

 the fine sensor of our ears, eyes, nose, tongue and other sense organs have direct linkage with the brain. Their functions are regulate by, and also contribute to the quality of the brain and mind.  Napoleon 1st had amazingly sharp audio memory. He could remember the name of each of the soldiers in his army who had not even come in contact with him and used to correctly recognize their voice. Alexander the great also had been blessed with such extra ordinary memory.

 One can by determined efforts direct the power of mind so that it could be used by any one of the normal sense organ for the desired development of specific faculty associated with it. Kalidas is one of the example. After being a dumb fellow, with will power and internal desire and sincere efforts became great poet.  There are many such examples available. During the practice of Nada Yoga, ( Divine Sound ) one first tries training the ears to extend their hearing capacity. By fully concentrating the power of mind on this organ, the ears can be trained to hear the ultra, infra and even subtler and cosmic levels of sound during the advanced stage of Nada Yoga.

 The methods of awakening of subtle power of super normal hearing are based on the above principles of fine perception of pure sound.  The practice of Naad Yog gradually leads to the perception and recognition of subtler levels of sound. Through the immense power of the mental concentration, a practitioner can easily access energy centers in the cosmos and sense the signals of Naad emanating from there.
